Bangkok National Museum

A long Sanskrit and Khmer stele recording 250 years of a priestly family that served the Devaraja of the Khmer kings.

What it says

In 802 Jayavarman II had the Brahmana Hiranyadama perform a rite on Mahendraparvata (Phnom Kulen) so that Kambuja would no longer depend on Java, and the Devaraja was established. Hiranyadama taught the rites from four tantras to the priest Shivakaivalya, whose descendants kept the office.

What it proves

It is the main source for the founding of the Angkor kingdom and its Shaiva royal cult.
