About and sources

Hindu History tells the history of Hindus and Bharat as it happened, from the Vedic rishis and the cities of the Sindhu and Sarasvati to the present day, and across the Hindu world beyond Bharat.

Every page names its sources: inscriptions, coins, excavation reports, manuscripts, the Shastras and Itihasa, and the chronicles of those who ruled, travelled and fought here. Sacred history is told in the tradition’s own reckoning, and recorded history with its dates and sources. Where temples were destroyed, we give the year and the chronicle that records it, and we give the same space to those who resisted and rebuilt. There is no hatred here toward anyone living today.
