It praises Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, describes the island of Yava as rich in grain and gold, and says Sanjaya, a righteous king, installed the linga in the year 654 of the Shaka era.
It is the founding record of the Shaiva Mataram kingdom that later built Prambanan.
