01Vinayaka and the mango

The tank called Kadikkulam gave the place its old name, and the jackfruit is the sthala tree. The temple’s Vinayaka is Mangani Pillaiyar, the Ganesha of the mango, for the katha says Vinayaka worshipped Shiva here and received the fruit. Shri Rama is named among those who worshipped Karpaganathar. Sambandar’s one padigam on Tirukkadikkulam made it the 109th Tevaram shrine south of the Kaveri. Families come here to be freed from the curse of the forefathers.
