Terrified, Bhushundi shut his eyes, and when he opened them he was back in Kosalapura. Rama smiled at him, and as the child laughed, the crow went straight into his mouth. Inside the belly, he tells Garuda, he saw multitudes of universes, each stranger than the last. Crores of four-faced Brahmas and of Shivas, Lord of Gauri; countless stars, suns and moons; countless Yamas, mountains, oceans and forests; devas, munis, siddhas, nagas, men and kinnaras, and all four kinds of living beings. What he had never seen or heard, what the mind cannot hold, he saw there; how can it be told? In each universe he stayed a hundred years, and so went on through many cosmic shells.
