Rama praises the company of saints
The brothers and Hanuman also prostrate. The sages gaze at Raghupati's matchless beauty, dark and lotus-eyed, and are lost in it beyond control. They stare without blinking, while the Lord stands with folded hands and bowed head. Seeing their state, Raghubir's own eyes stream. He seats them and speaks: I am blessed today; at the sight of you sins perish. Great fortune brings the company of saints, and through it the world's bondage breaks without effort. The company of saints leads to liberation, and that of the lustful to the road of rebirth; so say the saints, the learned, the Shruti and the Puranas.
स्यामल गात सरोरुह-लोचन । सुन्दरता मन्दिर भव मोचन ॥
एकटक रहे निमेष न लावहिँ । प्रभु कर जोरें सीस नवावहिं ॥
syāmala gāta saroruha-locana | sundaratā mandira bhava mocana ||
ekaṭaka rahe nimeṣa na lāvahim̐ | prabhu kara joreṃ sīsa navāvahiṃ ||
तिन्ह के दसा देखि रघुबीरा । स्त्रवत नयन जल पुलक सरीरा ॥
कर गहि प्रभु मुनिबर बैठारे । परम मनोहर बचन उचारे ॥
tinha ke dasā dekhi raghubīrā | stravata nayana jala pulaka sarīrā ||
kara gahi prabhu munibara baiṭhāre | parama manohara bacana ucāre ||
आजु धन्य मैं सुनहु मुनीसा । तुम्हरें दरस जाहिँ अघ खीसा ॥
बड़े भाग पाइब सतसंगा । बिनहिँ प्रयास होइ भव भङ्गा ॥
āju dhanya maiṃ sunahu munīsā | tumhareṃ darasa jāhim̐ agha khīsā ||
bar̤e bhāga pāiba satasaṃgā | binahim̐ prayāsa hoi bhava bhaṅgā ||
सन्त सङ्ग अपबर्ग कर, कामी भव कर पन्थ ।
कहहिं सन्त कवि कोबिद, श्रुति पुरान सदग्रन्थ ॥
santa saṅga apabarga kara, kāmī bhava kara pantha |
kahahiṃ santa kavi kobida, śruti purāna sadagrantha ||
