The sun of Rama's glory rises

Kakbhushundi tells Garuda that when the blazing sun of Rama's glory rose, its light filled the three worlds; many rejoiced and many grieved. He names the grieving first. The night of ignorance ended. The owls of sin hid wherever they could, and the night lilies of lust and anger closed. The chakora birds of karma, gunas, time and nature never find joy now, and the thieves of envy, pride, delusion and arrogance have no chance anywhere. In the lake of dharma the lotuses of knowledge and realisation open in many ways, and the chakravaka birds of happiness, contentment, dispassion and discernment are free of sorrow. When this sun shines in anyone's heart, he says, the latter group grows and the former is destroyed.
