Despair on the shore; Jambavan's counsel
On the shore the monkeys realise the deadline has passed and nothing is done. What shall we do without news? Angada, eyes full of tears, says death awaits us either way: here we have no news of Sita, and there the king will kill us. The heroes weep, then declare: we will not go back without news of Sita. They spread kusha grass on the shore of the salt sea and sit down. Jambavan consoles Angada. Do not take Rama for a man; know Him as the formless, unconquered, unborn Brahman. He comes down by His own will for the devas, earth, cows and brahmins, and we, His fortunate servants who love Him with form, stay by Him, giving up even the bliss of liberation.
