Shri Rama asks Shiva to marry Parvati

Shiva goes about teaching knowledge to sages here, praising Rama's virtues there. Though he is free of desire, the Lord who knows all is pained by the separation of his devotee. Much time passes this way, and his love for Rama's feet grows new each day. Seeing Shankara's discipline, his love and the unshakeable line of bhakti in his heart, Shri Rama appears, grateful and merciful, a treasury of beauty and good nature, radiant. He praises Shankara warmly: who but you could keep such a vow? He explains many things to Shiva and tells him of Parvati's birth and her most holy deeds in full. Then he asks: if you love me, go and marry the mountain's daughter; give me this as my request.
