The king embraces his sons, and at his word they sit down happily. Seeing Rama, the whole court is soothed, feeling the eyes have gained their utmost reward. Then Vasishtha and Vishvamitra come and are given fine seats. The king and his sons worship them and touch their feet, and both gurus are moved with love at the sight of Rama. Vasishtha tells accounts of dharma and itihasa while the king listens with the queens, and gladly relates at length the deeds of Gadhi's son, beyond the reach even of munis' minds. Vamadeva confirms it all, saying that fame fills the three worlds. Everyone rejoices, Rama and Lakshmana most of all. Days pass in festivity, and Avadh brims with ever growing joy.
