The mothers wave the lamps again and again; who could describe their love and delight? They scatter ornaments, gems and cloth of every kind in countless offerings. Seeing their four sons with their brides, they are sunk in supreme bliss. Looking again and again at the beauty of Sita and Rama, they count their lives in the world fulfilled. The companions gaze at Sita's face and sing, praising their own merit. Devas rain flowers moment by moment and dance, sing and serve. Seeing the four lovely couples, Sharada searches through every comparison and finds each one too small, and simply stares, enchanted. Following the Veda, sound conduct and family custom, offering water and spreading cloths, the mothers complete the welcome and lead their sons and brides into the palace.
