Parashurama sings Shri Rama's victory. Glory to the sun of the lotus forest of the Raghu line, the fire that burns the dense clan of demons; glory to the friend of Devas, Brahmins and cows, the remover of pride, delusion, anger and confusion. How can one mouth praise you, swan in the Manasa lake of Mahesha's mind? Unknowing, I said much that was improper; forgive me, you two brothers, homes of forgiveness. Crying victory to the banner of the Raghu clan, Parashurama leaves for the forest to do tapas. The wicked kings tremble at a fear of their own making and the cowards slip away. The Devas sound drums and rain flowers, and the people of Janakpur are freed from their fear.
