Janaka's joy and Vishvamitra's counsel

Drums boom loudly and auspicious things are made ready. Groups of fair women with cuckoo voices sing. Videha's happiness is beyond words, like a man poor from birth who finds a treasure. Sita's fear is gone and she is glad, like a chakori maiden at moonrise. Janaka bows to Vishvamitra: by your grace Shri Rama has broken the bow, and the two brothers have fulfilled my life; tell me what is proper now. The muni answers that the marriage depended on the bow, and the moment it broke the marriage was made, as Devas, men and Nagas all know. Still, go and perform it by the custom of your line, asking the Brahmins, elders and gurus who know the rites.
