The brahmins went on: base kshatriya, you invited brahmins to destroy them all together; Ishvara has saved our dharma, and you will go with your whole family. Within a year you will perish, and none of your line will remain even to offer water to the dead. Hearing the curse, the king was shaken with terror. Again a voice spoke from the sky: brahmins, you cursed without thought; the king did no wrong. The king went to the kitchen and found neither food nor the brahmin cook. He told the brahmins the whole affair, and fell to the ground in fear and anguish. They said: king, though you are not at fault, what is fated cannot be wiped out; a brahmin's curse is very terrible and cannot be made otherwise.
