The purohita prepared the feast with the six tastes and four kinds of food the Vedas describe. He cooked the meat of many kinds of animals, and into it the villain mixed the flesh of brahmins. All the brahmins were called to eat. As the king began to serve, a voice spoke from the sky: brahmins, rise and go home; do not eat this food, it will do you great harm; it is cooked with brahmin flesh. Trusting the voice, all rose. The king was stricken, his mind lost in delusion, and, ruled by fate, could not speak. Then the brahmins in anger, without weighing anything, cursed him: foolish king, go and become a rakshasa with your whole family.
