Kalaketu took on the purohita's form and lay in his fine bed. The king woke before dawn and, seeing his own palace, was amazed. Inferring the muni's power, he rose quietly so the queen would not know, mounted the same horse and rode to the forest, and no one in the city knew. He returned at midday to rejoicing. When he saw the purohita he looked at him in wonder, recalling the plan. Three days passed like ages. At the right time the purohita came and explained everything as agreed. Recognising his guru, the king rejoiced, so deluded he had no sense left, and at once invited a hundred thousand chosen brahmins with their families.
