Rama sends off Janaka and the mothers

With Lakshmana, Rama bows to King Janaka and honours him with many humble words: Lord, moved by kindness you suffered greatly and came to the forest with your people; now return to your city. Janaka blesses him and, steadying himself, departs. Rama honours the munis, Brahmins and saints as equal to Hari and Hara and sends them off. The brothers go to the mothers-in-law, bow at their feet, receive blessings and return. Vishvamitra, Vamadeva, Jabali, ministers and citizens, young and old, are each sent off with fitting honour. The Lord bows at the feet of Bharata's mother Kaikeyi, embraces her with pure affection, removes all her shame and worry, and sends her off in a palanquin.
