Bharata and Shatrughna take leave

Where the minds of Janaka and the guru are thus lost, to call this ordinary love would be a great fault. Were I to describe the parting of Raghubar and Bharata, says Tulsidas, people would think the poet hard-hearted. That rasa of restraint is beyond words; the poet's speech, remembering the time and love, shrinks back. Rama embraces and consoles Bharata, then gladly holds Shatrughna to his heart. With heavy grief both camps begin to prepare for departure. The two brothers bow at the Lord's lotus feet and set out with Rama's command on their heads. They embrace Lakshmana, bow, set the dust of Sita's feet on their heads, and leave with blessings, the root of every good.
