Sharada refuses to turn Bharata's mind

The gods pray to Sharada: turn Bharata's mind by your maya, and shelter the gods with a shade of deceit. The wise goddess hears and knows the gods are selfish and dull. You ask me to turn Bharata's mind? With a thousand eyes you cannot see Sumeru. The great maya of Brahma, Hari and Hara cannot even look at Bharata's mind, and you tell me to bewitch it? Can moonlight steal from the sun? Sita and Rama dwell in Bharata's heart; can darkness stand where the sun shines? So saying, Sharada goes to Brahmaloka, leaving the gods restless as chakavas at night. The selfish, dark-minded gods then plot wickedly and spread a strong maya of fear, confusion, unease and restlessness.
