Forest folk bring gifts to the Ayodhya people

Kols, Kiratas, Bhils and other forest dwellers fill neat leaf cups with pure, nectar-sweet honey, and bring bunches of roots, fruit and shoots. They give them to all with humble bows, telling the taste, kind, virtue and name of each. The people offer much in return, but they refuse, swearing by Rama. Lost in love, they speak softly, and the good recognise their love. You are blessed and we are lowly Nishadas; we have had your darshan by Rama's grace. Your sight is as hard for us as the Ganga's stream for a desert. Gracious Rama favours the poor; his household and subjects should be like their king. Knowing this, put aside reserve, see our love, be kind, and take these fruits, grasses and shoots to make us fulfilled.
