The oath continues and Kaushalya's verdict

The oath runs on. Those who sell the Vedas and milk dharma for gain, who spread others' sins, the deceitful and quarrelsome who mock the Vedas, the greedy who eye another's wealth and wife: may I go their dreadful way if I consented. Those who shun the company of saints, who gain a human body and still do not worship Hari, who find no joy in the glory of Hari and Hara, who leave the path of the Shruti and cheat the world in a false garb: may Shankara give me their fate, mother, if I knew of this. Kaushalya hears his true, simple words and says, child, you have always been dear to Rama in word, mind and body.
