Rising Over the Three Bright Realms
Kashyapa Asita or Devala praises Pavamana Soma in gayatri. Like rivers rushing downhill, the swift Somas are released, striking down obstructions. Like rain upon the earth, the pressed drops flow to Indra. Overflowing with joy, Soma runs in the filter, beating back the rakshasas. He runs into the kalashas, is poured around in the filter, and grows with hymns at the yajnas. Climbing beyond the three bright realms he shines in heaven, and sets the sun in motion. At the head of the yajna the sages, seeking help, groom the steed with their thoughts. He is asked to flow along the stream of honey.
अ॒भि सु॑वा॒नास॒ इन्द॑वो वृ॒ष्टय॑ः पृथि॒वीमि॑व ।
इन्द्रं॒ सोमा॑सो अक्षरन्
abhi suvānāsa indavo vṛṣṭayaḥ pṛthivīmiva |
indraṃ somāso akṣaran
अत्यू॑र्मिर्मत्स॒रो मद॒ः सोम॑ः प॒वित्रे॑ अर्षति ।
वि॒घ्नन्रक्षां॑सि देव॒युः
atyūrmirmatsaro madaḥ somaḥ pavitre arṣati |
vighnanrakṣāṃsi devayuḥ
आ क॒लशे॑षु धावति प॒वित्रे॒ परि॑ षिच्यते ।
उ॒क्थैर्य॒ज्ञेषु॑ वर्धते
ā kalaśeṣu dhāvati pavitre pari ṣicyate |
ukthairyajñeṣu vardhate
अति॒ त्री सो॑म रोच॒ना रोह॒न्न भ्रा॑जसे॒ दिव॑म् ।
इ॒ष्णन्सूर्यं॒ न चो॑दयः
ati trī soma rocanā rohanna bhrājase divam |
iṣṇansūryaṃ na codayaḥ
अ॒भि विप्रा॑ अनूषत मू॒र्धन्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ का॒रव॑ः ।
दधा॑ना॒श्चक्ष॑सि प्रि॒यम्
abhi viprā anūṣata mūrdhanyajñasya kāravaḥ |
dadhānāścakṣasi priyam
तमु॑ त्वा वा॒जिनं॒ नरो॑ धी॒भिर्विप्रा॑ अव॒स्यव॑ः ।
मृ॒जन्ति॑ दे॒वता॑तये
tamu tvā vājinaṃ naro dhībhirviprā avasyavaḥ |
mṛjanti devatātaye
मधो॒र्धारा॒मनु॑ क्षर ती॒व्रः स॒धस्थ॒मास॑दः ।
चारु॑रृ॒ताय॑ पी॒तये॑
madhordhārāmanu kṣara tīvraḥ sadhasthamāsadaḥ |
