A short hymn by Vasishtha to Agni Vaishvanara, the all-bright giver of insight who slays the asuras. The singers bring him thought and prayer as one brings an offering to the grass. Blazing at birth, he filled heaven and earth with flame, and by his greatness he freed the gods from the curse laid on them. When he was born he looked over all the worlds like a herdsman watching his cattle, going round everywhere. The rishi asks Vaishvanara to find a path for the prayer, and closes with the refrain asking protection always.
