What happens in this chapter

When will you answer our prayer, Indra?

Nara, son of Bharadvaja, questions Indra in trishtubh with longing. When will our prayers find a home on your chariot? When will you give the singer wealth that feeds a thousand? When will you clothe our hymn with riches and make our thoughts bring prizes? When will you match men with men and heroes with heroes and win the races? Grant cows of three colours and heavenly glory. The rishi asks for cows, bright horses and nourishment, a cow that milks well, and that the Bharadvajas shine. He closes by asking Indra to quicken the Angirases with prayer and not to leave them dry.
