What happens in this chapter

Indra, sole king of all the world

Nara, son of Bharadvaja, praises Indra in trishtubh. His joys belong to all people, and so are the riches of the earth; he is the true sharer of spoils, holding the Asura power among the gods. People offer to his might and follow his valour. All helps, manly strengths and teams cling to him, and hymns enter him as rivers enter the sea. The rishi asks him, being praised, to open a well of wealth, for he has become the matchless lord of men, the one king of all the world. Let him hear us, and be our helper in every age.
