Shunahotra, son of Bharadvaja, praises Indra in trishtubh. Many songs have come together in Indra, and wide thoughts go out from him; the hymns of seers old and new have vied for him. He is called by many, praised alone at the sacrifices, yoked like a chariot for great strength. Prayers do not harm him; they reach him and make him grow, and whether singers number a hundred or a thousand, it is a joy to him. Soma has been poured into him as months are poured into heaven. The rishi offers this loud chant so that Indra may stand as helper in the battle with Vritra.
