What happens in this chapter Agni drinks Soma with the Maruts Shyavashva Atreya praises Agni and the Maruts together, in Trishtubh and Jagati. He worships Agni with bows and offers the Marut hymn, moving round sunwise. When the Maruts mount their chariots, forests bend in fear, the earth shakes and the great mountain is afraid. Decked in gold like bridegrooms, they are brothers with no eldest and no youngest; young Rudra is their father and Prishni, the good milker, their mother. Whether they dwell in the highest, middle or lowest heaven, the rishi asks them and Agni to note his offering. Agni Vaishvanara is invited to drink Soma with the shining Marut host.
