Sasa of the Atri family praises Agni in anushtubh, closing with a pankti. The singers set him down and kindle him as Manu did, and ask Agni Angiras, in Manu's way, to worship the devas for the one who seeks them. Well-pleased, he is kindled among men, and the ladles come to him in order, he who is sprinkled with ghee. All the devas together made him their messenger; serving him, they praise the seer at the yajna. A mortal should honour Agni by worship of the devas. Kindled and bright, he is asked to shine and take his seat in the womb of ṛta, the seat of Sasa.
