Five brihati verses of Vishvamitra to Indra. Indra is asked to come with his joyful bays whose hair is like peacock plumes, and let none hold him back, as fowlers hold a bird; he is to pass them as over a desert. He is devourer of Vritra, breaker of Vala, splitter of forts, driver of the waters. He nourishes wisdom as the deep seas, as a herdsman feeds cows. Like one shaking a tree for ripe fruit, he is to shake down wealth. Self-ruling, of good counsel and own glory, he is asked to be most famous for the singers.
