Yami Vaivasvati is the rishi, the subject the state of the departed, in anushtubh. For some soma flows; to those for whom honey runs, let him go. Let him go to those made unassailable by tapas, who reached heaven by tapas, who made tapas their greatness. Let him go to heroes who fight in battle and give up their bodies, and to those who gave a thousand gifts. Yama, let him go to the ancient fathers who kept rta and grew by it, and to the rishis born of tapas, the poets of a thousand ways who guard the sun. It is recited in the funeral rite.
