This praise, richest in treasure, is made by the sages for the divine race of the Rbhus. Medhatithi Kanva's gayatri verses tell the deeds of the Rbhus, the skilled craftsmen who became gods. With their minds they shaped Indra's bay horses that yoke at a word. They built for the Nasatyas a smooth chariot that runs everywhere. They made their two old parents young again. The single new cup fashioned by Tvashtar they made into four. For their good work they won a share of the yajna among the gods; now they are asked to give us treasures three times seven.
