Vayu, Indra-Vayu and Mitra-Varuna invited to Soma

Madhuchchhandas Vaishvamitra calls three sets of gods to the pressed Soma, three verses each, in gayatri. First Vayu, the beautiful one: the Soma drops stand ready, come, drink and hear the call. His stream of speech reaches the giver. Then Indra and Vayu together, who understand the pressings and are rich in strength, are asked to hurry to the prepared place. Last come Mitra of pure skill and Varuna who destroys foes. Through rita they grow and hold to rita, and they reach a mighty will. Wise, born for many, wide in dwelling, they give skill and the power to act.
