A short dialogue to Indra in brihati, anushtubh and trishtubh. Indra begins: there is nothing today, nothing tomorrow; who knows what is marvellous? The mind of another wavers. Agastya had meant his offering for the Maruts, and Indra is angered. Agastya pleads: why do you wish to strike us, Indra? The Maruts are your brothers; settle it with them, do not slay us in the strife. Indra asks why Agastya, a friend, passes him over. Then they agree: let the altar be prepared and the fire kindled, and they will spread the sacrifice together. Agastya ends: Indra, speak with the Maruts and eat the offerings in season.
