The seven steps, and Girija fulfilled
Bhagwan Shiva tells Girija that he has described the Ramkatha, which quiets the filth of Kali and cleans the mind. It is the life-giving herb for the disease of samsara. Within it are seven lovely steps, the seven kandas, a staircase on the path of Raghupati's bhakti, and only one blessed by Hari's grace sets foot on it. Whoever sings it without guile gains the heart's desire; those who tell, hear or rejoice in it cross the ocean of becoming like a cow's hoofprint. Girija, delighted, answers sweetly: by your grace my doubt is gone and new love for Rama's feet has sprung up. I am fulfilled, and every trouble has passed.
एहि महँ रुचिर सप्त सोपाना । रघुपति भगति केर पंथाना ॥
अति हरि कृपा जाहि पर होई । पाउँ देइ एहिं मारग सोई ॥
ehi maham̐ rucira sapta sopānā | raghupati bhagati kera paṃthānā ||
ati hari kṛpā jāhi para hoī | pāum̐ dei ehiṃ māraga soī ||
मन कामना सिद्धि नर पावा । जे यह कथा कपट तजि गावा ॥
कहहिँ सुनहिँ अनुमोदन करहीं । ते गोपद इव भवनिधि तरहीं ॥
mana kāmanā siddhi nara pāvā | je yaha kathā kapaṭa taji gāvā ||
kahahim̐ sunahim̐ anumodana karahīṃ | te gopada iva bhavanidhi tarahīṃ ||
सुनि सब कथा हृदयँ अति भाई । गिरिजा बोली गिरा सुहाई ॥
नाथ कृपाँ मम गत सन्देहा । राम-चरन उपजेउ नव नेहा ॥
suni saba kathā hṛdayam̐ ati bhāī | girijā bolī girā suhāī ||
nātha kṛpām̐ mama gata sandehā | rāma-carana upajeu nava nehā ||
मैं कृतकृत्य भइउँ अब, तव प्रसाद बिस्वेस ।
उपजी राम भगति दृढ़, बीते सकल कलेस ॥
maiṃ kṛtakṛtya bhaium̐ aba, tava prasāda bisvesa |
upajī rāma bhagati dṛr̤ha, bīte sakala kalesa ||
