Mandodari begs Ravana to return Sita

Ravana laughs off his alarm and goes to his palace. Mandodari has heard that the Lord has bound the sea as if in play. She takes her husband by the hand, leads him in, bows at his feet, spreads her sari's edge before him and speaks gently. Leave your anger, my beloved. Make enmity only with one you can beat by wit or strength. Between you and Raghupati there is the gap between a firefly and the sun. He who slew mighty Madhu and Kaitabha, destroyed the great sons of Diti, bound Bali and killed thousand-armed Sahasrabahu, has now taken birth to lift the earth's burden. Bow at his lotus feet, give Janaki back, hand the kingdom to your son and go to the forest to worship Raghunath.
