No friend like Rama; the monsoon on Pravarshana
Shiva tells Uma that no guru, father, mother, brother or master in the world does good like Rama; devas, men and sages love for their own ends. Sugriva, once burning day and night in fear of Bali, is made king of the monkeys, such is Raghuvira's mercy. Why do men fall into nets of trouble, knowing such a Lord and leaving Him? Rama then teaches Sugriva the ways of kingship. I will not enter a city for fourteen years, He says. Summer is over and the rains have come; I will stay on the hill nearby. Rule with Angada and keep My work always in your heart. Rama settles on Mount Pravarshana, in a cave the devas had made ready for Him.
