What happens in this chapter

Sati goes to test Rama

Mahesh says: if your mind holds such doubt, why not go and test him? I will sit in the shade of this banyan until you come back. Do whatever will remove your delusion, using your judgement. With Shiva's leave Sati goes, wondering what she should do. Here Shambhu reasons that no good will come to Daksha's daughter. Even my words did not remove her doubt; when fate turns against one, nothing good follows. Whatever Rama has ordained will happen; who would add branches by arguing? So saying, he begins to chant Hari's name. Sati goes where the Lord, abode of joy, is. The doha: thinking again and again, she takes the form of Sita and walks ahead on the path along which the king of men is coming.
