The gift of cows and Dasharatha's thanks

Dasharatha prostrates before all the munis, worships them with love and gives them fine seats. He sends for four lakh excellent cows, gentle as Kamadhenu, has each fully adorned, and gives them to the Brahmanas with joy, saying humbly that today he has gained the reward of living in the world. Receiving their blessings, he calls the seekers and, asking each what he wants, gives gold, cloth, gems, horses, elephants and chariots. They leave singing, victory to the lord of the Sun dynasty. Tulsidas says the festivity of Rama's wedding is beyond even the thousand-mouthed Shesha. Again and again Dasharatha bows at Vishvamitra's feet and says that all this happiness is the power of his gracious glance.
