The wedding day fixed in Margashirsha

So the women nurse their wishes, their hearts brimming with joy. The kings who had come for Sita's svayamvara are glad to see all four brothers, and they go home praising Shri Rama's bright, wide fame. Some days pass so, with townsfolk and guests alike delighted. Then the auspicious wedding day arrives, in the lovely winter month of Agahan. Brahma himself examined planet, tithi, nakshatra, yoga and weekday, fixed the lagna and sent it through Narada; it matched exactly what Janaka's astrologers had worked out. Hearing this, people say the astrologers are a second Brahma. Knowing the omens favourable, the Brahmins tell Videha that the pure hour of cow-dust, at dusk, is the root of every blessing.
