What happens in this chapter

Rama and Lakshmana go to meet their father

Each member of the procession finds his lodging furnished with every joy of the Devas. No one knows the secret of this wealth, and all praise Janaka. Shri Rama alone recognises it as Sita's glory and rejoices inwardly, knowing the cause. Hearing that their father has come, the two brothers cannot contain their joy, yet out of reticence they cannot tell their guru, though they long to see him. Vishvamitra is pleased by their humility. He gladly embraces both brothers and goes with them to Dasharatha's lodging, as though a lake had gone to meet the thirsty. When the king sees the muni coming with his sons, he rises in joy and moves forward as though wading through an ocean of happiness.
