What happens in this chapter

Vasishtha blesses the king, orders the procession

Vasishtha is delighted and says that happiness fills the earth for the virtuous. As rivers run to the ocean though it does not desire them, so joy and wealth come unasked to one who keeps dharma. You serve guru, Brahmins, cows and Devas, and Queen Kausalya is as pure. No one in the world has been, or will be, as meritorious as you. What merit can exceed that of a king with a son like Rama? Your four sons are heroic, humble, devoted to dharma, oceans of virtue; good fortune is yours at every time. Prepare the marriage procession, sound the drums and set out quickly. The king bows, saying it shall be so, has the envoys lodged, and returns to the palace.
