The envoys tell of Parashurama's defeat

The envoys go on. Hearing of it, Parashurama came in fury and glared in many ways, but seeing Shri Rama's might he gave him his own bow and, after much humble entreaty, left for the forest. King, as Rama's strength is matchless, so Lakshmana is a store of radiance; kings tremble when he looks at them, as elephants at a lion cub. Having seen your two boys, no one else seems worth a glance. Their speech, steeped in love, glory and heroism, delights the king and court, who start to give the envoys gifts. The envoys cover their ears, calling it improper, and all are pleased by their regard for dharma. Then the king rises, goes to Vasishtha, gives him the letter and has the envoys tell the guru everything.
