तब सिय देखि भूप अभिलाखे । कूर कपूत मूढ़ मन माखे ॥
उठि उठि पहिरि सनाह अभागे । जहँ तहँ गाल बजावन लागे ॥
taba siya dekhi bhūpa abhilākhe | kūra kapūta mūr̤ha mana mākhe ||
uṭhi uṭhi pahiri sanāha abhāge | jaham̐ taham̐ gāla bajāvana lāge ||

Seeing Sita, some kings burn with desire, and the cruel fools grow angry. The wretches put on armour and start boasting: snatch Sita away, seize and bind the two princes! Breaking the bow settles nothing; who can wed her while we live? If Videha helps them, we will defeat him with both brothers. The good kings answer, and shame itself is ashamed of such an assembly. Your strength, glory and valour went with the bow, they say; where have you found courage now? With such sense, fate has blackened your faces. Give up envy, pride and anger and gaze at Shri Rama. Do not be moths in the fire of Lakshmana's wrath.
