Shri Rama walks to the bow; the queen grieves

The night of the kings' hopes ends and the stars of their boasts fade. Proud kings close like night lilies; deceitful ones hide like owls. Munis and devas, freed from grief like chakavas at dawn, rain flowers. Shri Rama bows to the guru, takes the munis' leave and walks forward at ease, the Lord of all worlds with the gait of a fine elephant. The townsfolk thrill with joy, bow to ancestors and devas and call on their merit: if we have any virtue, may Shri Ganesha let Rama break the bow like a lotus stalk. Seeing Shri Rama, Sita's mother, overcome with affection, calls her friends near and speaks in distress.
