Name and the one named seem alike, and their love is mutual, the master following the name. Name and form are two attributes of the Lord, beyond words and without beginning, understood only by a disciplined mind. To call one greater is a fault, yet saints will grasp the difference. Form depends on name: without the name, even a thing held in the palm is not recognised, while remembering the name without seeing the form brings the form into the heart with special love. Between the formless and the form, the name is the true witness, a clever interpreter who explains each to the other. The doha: if you want light both within and without, Tulsi, set the jewel lamp of Rama's name on the threshold of your tongue.
