Devas take vanara birth; King Dasharatha introduced

The devas return home and the Earth is at rest. Glad of Brahma's order, they lose no time and take birth on earth as forest-dwellers of matchless strength. Their weapons are mountains, trees and claws, and they wait steadily for Hari to come, filling the hills and forests in troops of their own. The poet now returns to the thread he had set aside. In Avadhpuri reigns Dasharatha, jewel of the Raghu line, praised in the Veda, a pillar of dharma, wise and devoted to the Lord who bears the Sharnga bow. His dear queens, Kausalya and the others, are pure in conduct, true to their husband and humble at Hari's lotus feet.
