Ayodhya, Kausalya and King Dasharatha

Tulsidas bows to holy Ayodhya and the Sarayu, which washes away Kali's sins, and to the people of the city, whom the Lord loved dearly; he even removed the sins of those who spoke ill of Sita and settled them in a world without grief. He bows to Kausalya as the eastern quarter where the moon of Raghupati rose, a joy to the world and frost on the lotuses of the wicked. In deed, mind and word he bows to King Dasharatha and all his queens, and asks their grace as their son's servant. In making Rama's parents, Brahma himself grew great. The soratha honours Dasharatha, whose love was so true that parted from Rama he gave up his body like straw.
