Guha welcomes Rama with fruits and love

Hearing the news, Nishadaraja Guha joyfully calls his kinsmen, loads baskets of fruit and roots and goes to meet the Lord. He prostrates, lays the gifts down and gazes at Rama with great love. Raghurai seats him close and asks after his welfare. Guha says all is well now that he has seen the Lord's feet; he counts himself fortunate. The land, wealth and home are Rama's; he and his family are humble servants. He begs Rama to grace his town so that everyone will envy him. Rama replies that every word is true, wise friend, but his father has commanded fourteen years in the forest, with a muni's vow, dress and food, so living in a village is not fitting. Guha is weighed down with sorrow.
