Shri Rama describes the forest's hardships

Shri Rama goes on: once I have made my father's word true, I will come back quickly, and the days will pass soon enough. Listen to my counsel, lovely one. If love makes you insist, you will suffer in the end. The forest is hard and fearsome, with fierce sun, cold, rain and wind. The path is full of kusha grass, thorns and stones, and you would walk barefoot on your soft lotus feet over great mountains. There are caves, chasms, rivers and streams too deep to look at, and bears, tigers, wolves, lions and elephants roar until courage flees. A bed on the ground, garments of bark, a meal of roots and fruit, and even these will not be had every day.
