My life depends on Rama; Kaikeyi refuses

A fish might live without water, says the king, a serpent might live wretched without its jewel, but I say plainly and without guile: I cannot live without Rama. Think, wise one: my life depends on seeing Rama. His soft words make the evil-minded queen burn more, like ghee poured on fire. Try crores of tricks, she says; your maya will not work here. Give, or refuse and take disgrace; I have no taste for long arguments. Rama is a sadhu, you are a wise sadhu, and Rama's mother is good too; I know them all. As Kausalya meant me good, so I will repay her in kind. If at dawn Rama does not go to the forest in a muni's dress, then, king, know my death and your disgrace.
